Here’s what the world’s top investors are saying.
These are the FinTech areas they recommend focusing on over the next 12 months❗️
I took a closer look at Andreessen Horowitz’s fresh Big Ideas for 2025 list.
Specifically, what they’re recommending in the FinTech space.
Want to hit the jackpot and raise a big round? Here you go:
Crypto
AI wallets
The idea is for AI agents to have their own crypto wallets and manage them entirely on their own. Ultimately, a blockchain fully managed by AI.
A super exciting vision. Thrilling, but also a bit scary.
Decentralized autonomous chatbots
The next step in chatbot evolution, giving them even more capabilities.
Proof of personhood
This one was somewhat expected. Today, we do KYC to verify whether someone is who they claim to be. Soon, we’ll be verifying whether that person is even human—or just AI.
Crypto app stores
The world has been gearing up for this for some time. Sooner or later, it’s bound to happen.
Other crypto-related ideas from a16z:
➡️ Better aggregation of information for everything
➡️ Adoption of stablecoins by businesses
➡️ Government bonds on the blockchain
➡️ Wider adoption of the ‘DUNA’ standard
➡️ Blockchain-based voting in elections
➡️ Broader use of existing blockchain infrastructure
➡️ UX improvements for everyday crypto users
➡️ More user-friendly experiences in Web3 apps
➡️ Crypto owners transitioning into active crypto users
➡️ More industries tokenizing their assets
Enterprise + FinTech
AI-powered compliance
A fairly obvious step. The more AI around us, the more it will play a role in compliance processes.
Transformation of service industries
AI will help service-based businesses scale significantly.
This is very interesting—and aligns with my personal beliefs. The creator economy and billion-dollar solopreneurs are going to be massive trends in the coming years.
AI-native interfaces
“The UI of the future will move away from traditional SaaS tooling, where humans manually input data into boxes. Chat was just the first experimental interface—now I expect to see new, innovative interaction mechanisms.”
This is something I wholeheartedly support. Months ago, I wrote about how I can’t wait for the first fully conversational production interface in a banking app. It has to happen eventually.
Other predictions in Enterprise + FinTech:
➡️ Eliminating older, outdated systems (think Klarna’s case)
➡️ Significantly enhanced product differentiation through AI
➡️ Leveraging existing data more effectively with AI
These directions are fascinating. Truly fascinating.
