So you have your very-own business idea. It’s great and you know it. So what now?

Ok, so you have it. Your great business idea. You simply love it. You haven’t seen it working live yet, but you already love it. Simply thinking about it causes you smile.

So what now?

There’s only one answer for this: do it.

An idea is just an idea. All of us have great (that’s what we think) business ideas. But those who succeed are those who implemented the idea, not just had it.

Years ago I had an idea for a web-based tool to manage notes and documents. At the same time I had an idea for a tool to store files in a cloud. Some time later I had an idea for an online tool to organize events.

But you know what? I didn’t implement them. I can always say that I had the same idea that Dropbox’s founders had; and that was in 2007. And I had an idea for a tool like Evernote; in 2008. And I had an idea for a tool like Meetup or Eventbrite; in 2009. But I didn’t implement them. I didn’t try. If I had… who knows – maybe my startup would be in place of Dropbox or Evernote. Maybe I would have my own Meetup or Eventbrite.

But I don’t have. I didn’t implement these ideas, so I don’t even know what would’ve be if… I can only say that I had similar ideas. In 2008 or 2009. But… so what? No one cares.

You have an idea? Great! Now prepare yourself. Then find a co-founder, look for a graphic designer (if you can’t design yourself), look for a programmer (if you can’t code yourself), buy a domain and a web hosting account and take some time to implement it.

Execution is what really counts. Not an idea.

So build your product, prototype, MVP or whatever. And then see what happens.

Don’t look for shortcuts. Simply implement your idea.
