#SundayInspiration emails. Why I started to send them? And the numbers

Since I launched my mailing list I was trying to figure out what I can send to the subscribers, aside from the notifications about the new blog posts.

I always believed that it has to be something more. A man has to have some kind of reason to subscribe. Not just the notifications about the new blog posts from my blog. These he may find everywhere else (on my Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn). Also, he can always visit my website and find all the articles there.

I knew it must be something more. Some kind of a gift or a prize.

In the meantime, I was looking for a place where I may share everything I’m really excited about. Projects I’m working on, podcasts or YouTube channels I found recently, movies I watched, books I read or anything else. Facebook and LinkedIn are not great places for such information. Twitter could be fine, but in fact it’s not. All the information I share there disappear too quickly (and people are not willing to engage with the content there as much as they were willing to some time ago).

And that’s how the idea came

I decided to launch #SundayInspiration, which became my two-week Sunday Inspiration email, where you may find the things I’ve found, been loving, watching, reading, listening to or using recently. All sorts of weird stuff I think is worth mentioning or looking closer at.

If you’re familiar with Tim Ferriss’ 5-Bullet Friday, you should know the concept. What Tim did has inspired me a lot. Thanks a lot Tim!

After a while I started to send these emails. The reactions of the subscribers were different (extreme, in fact). Some of them have unsubscribed (all the numbers you may find below), some of them loved the concept. I decided to continue anyway. I fell in love with the concept so I wanted to continue. And so I did. Some of the subscribers unsubscribed, some of them loved the concept. Yeah, the same again. So, I decided to continue. And again. And again.

Now after a while I still send these emails and even more than that I decided to do the same for my Polish blog. But there the whole concept is called #NiedzielneInspiracje.

Here you may find some of the #SundayInspiration emails:

Worth it?

Yes, in my opinion it was worth a try and it’s worth to continue. I have a place to share all the things I’m excited about (and all these things may be useful, motivating or inspiring for the subscribers) and I have something special for the subscribers cause non-subscribers don’t receive these emails.

And what about unsubscribes? I believe that these people sooner or later would unsubscribe anyway, so these emails may help me build even better (more engaged) mailing list.

Yeah, definitely worth to continue.
